  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, for frosting
  • 34 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk, for frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla, for frosting
  • Pastel gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Cream the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the mixture until smooth.
  5. Divide the batter into the liners, filling them two-thirds full. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cupcakes cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. Beat the softened butter for frosting until creamy, then add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until fluffy.
  8. Color the frosting with pastel gel food coloring as desired.
  9. Frost the cooled cupcakes with a star tip to create stunning designs.
