Deliciously cheesy and spicy bites loaded with Pepper Jack cheese and jalapeños, perfect for game night or as a fun appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Pepper Jack cheese, shredded
  • 23 jalapeños, diced
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine the shredded Pepper Jack cheese and diced jalapeños in a mixing bowl. Stir well to evenly distribute jalapeños.
  2. Shape the cheese mixture into balls, roughly 1 1/2 inches in diameter, pressing tightly to form solid bites.
  3. Place the balls onto a cookie sheet and freeze for approximately 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Prepare three coating stations: in the first bowl, add the flour; in the second bowl, whisk the egg and milk; in the third, combine the bread crumbs with cayenne pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  6. Coat each cheese ball in the flour, dip in the egg mixture, and then coat thoroughly with the seasoned bread crumbs.
  7. Fry the cheese balls in batches for about 3-4 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Drain the bites on paper towels and enjoy them hot with your favorite dipping sauces!

Notes

For an extra kick, add more jalapeños or diced habanero peppers. To make them cheesier, mix in some cream cheese with the Pepper Jack.
