  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries or strawberries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  3. Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to the package directions.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  5. Let the cake cool completely before cutting into cubes.
  6. Cut the cake into 1-inch cubes.
  7. Beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  8. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, and milk until smooth.
  9. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  10. Layer cake cubes in a trifle dish or serving glasses.
  11. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the cake cubes.
  12. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with cream cheese on top.
  13. Garnish with chocolate chips and fresh berries.
  14. Refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours or overnight before serving.
