Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 packet of active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup of warm milk
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp of red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of softened butter
  • 1/4 cup of softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp of milk

Instructions

  1. Mix the warm milk with the active dry yeast and sugar in a bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  2. Combine the flour, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring in a separate bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture, combining until a soft dough begins to form.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for around 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Spread the softened butter across the dough, then sprinkle the mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon on top.
  8. Roll up the dough tightly and slice it into pieces, placing them in a greased baking dish.
  9. Allow the rolls to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Prepare the frosting by mixing the cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  12. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Ensure your milk is warm but not hot to properly activate the yeast. Be patient during the rising process for fluffy rolls.
