A delightful and savory dish that combines tender beef, caramelized onions, and fluffy rice into a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups cooked rice, preferably cold
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Begin by heating the oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Next, add the beef sirloin slices to the pan and sear until browned. Remove the beef and set it aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the onions and sauté until soft and golden brown, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Push the onions and garlic to the side of the pan and pour in the beaten eggs, scrambling until cooked through.
  6. Once the eggs are scrambled, add your cold rice to the pan and break up any clumps.
  7. Stir in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, ensuring each grain of rice is flavored.
  8. Return the beef to the pan and toss to combine.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Finally, garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For optimal texture, use day-old rice. Consider marinating the beef for enhanced flavor.
