  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons grape soda (for frosting)

  • Purple food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract to infuse the batter.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the grape soda and milk.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the 12 cupcake liners.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Beat the softened butter for the frosting until smooth and creamy.
  11. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing well between each addition.
  12. Add the grape soda and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  13. Frost the cooled cupcakes generously with the grape soda frosting.
