Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced onions
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced celery
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 4 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons ranch or blue cheese salad dressing
  • 1/2 cup Cholula brand Original hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 cups cooked, chopped chicken breast
  • 1 1/2 cups Mozzarella or Cheddar Cheese, divided
  • 12 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 12 tablespoons fresh parsley or green onions (for garnish)
  • Blue cheese crumbles (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 loaf baguette (sliced, buttered, and toasted)

Instructions

  1. Melt the unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once melted, toss in the diced onions and celery, sautéing until tender and fragrant.
  2. Lower the heat slightly and add the minced garlic, stirring until it becomes fragrant but not browned.
  3. Mix in the room-temperature cream cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  4. Add the sour cream, ranch or blue cheese dressing, and Cholula hot sauce to the skillet and blend until creamy.
  5. Season the mixture with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley. Stir well to incorporate.
  6. Fold in the chopped chicken, ensuring it is well coated with the sauce.
  7. Gradually mix in the cheese, allowing it to melt.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish, spread evenly, and top it off with the remaining cheese.
  9. Broil until bubbly and golden brown on top.
  10. Garnish with parsley or green onions and serve with toasted baguette slices.

Notes

Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing. Adjust the spiciness by modifying the amount of hot sauce.
