A delicious one-pan meal featuring juicy steak and al dente pasta tossed in a sweet and spicy honey BBQ sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 steaks (flank or ribeye, sliced thinly against the grain)
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sriracha or hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: In a large skillet or pan, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. Sear the Steak: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Sear the steak slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the pan.
  3. Sauté the Veggies: In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil. Toss in the onion and bell pepper, sautéing for 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: Lower the heat to medium and stir in BBQ sauce, honey, and sriracha. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes.
  5. Combine the Pasta and Steak: Add pasta and seared steak back to the pan. Toss until everything is evenly coated with the sauce.
  6. Serve and Garnish: Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or cilantro, if desired.

Notes

For extra heat, consider adding sliced jalapeños or for creaminess, grated cheese. A splash of lime juice can enhance the flavors beautifully.
