A flavorful one-pan pasta dish combining tender steak, hearty pasta, and a spicy honey BBQ sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 steaks (flank or ribeye, sliced thinly against the grain)
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sriracha or hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: In a large skillet or pan, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. Sear the steak: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Sear the steak slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the pan.
  3. Sauté the veggies: In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil. Toss in the onion and bell pepper, sautéing for 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  4. Prepare the sauce: Lower the heat to medium and stir in BBQ sauce, honey, and sriracha. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
  5. Combine the pasta and steak: Add pasta and the seared steak back to the pan. Toss until everything is evenly coated with the sauce, ensuring each piece is surrounded by that delectable flavor.
  6. Serve and garnish: Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired.

Notes

For a lighter option, consider using whole wheat pasta or substituting the steak with grilled chicken or tofu. Avoid overcooking the steak to maintain tenderness.
