Ingredients

  • Thin Chicken Cutlets: 4 pieces
  • Buttermilk: 1 cup
  • Garlic Powder: 1 tsp
  • Smoked Paprika: 1 tsp
  • Salt: 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper: ½ tsp
  • Flour: 1 cup
  • Panko Breadcrumbs: 1 cup
  • Egg: 1, whisked
  • Vegetable Oil: For frying
  • Honey: ¼ cup
  • Hot Sauce: 1 tbsp
  • Red Pepper Flakes: ½ tsp (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Combine buttermilk, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Coat the chicken cutlets and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. Set Up a Dredging Station: Prepare bowls with flour, whisked egg, and panko breadcrumbs for coating.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Dip each cutlet in flour, then egg, and finally panko breadcrumbs to ensure an even coating.
  4. Fry the Cutlets: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry each cutlet for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Prepare the Hot Honey Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, and optional red pepper flakes, stirring until well mixed.
  6. Serve: Remove cutlets from oil, drain, and drizzle the hot honey sauce before serving.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to avoid greasy cutlets. Marinating time can be extended for more flavor.
