  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for strawberries)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the softened butter, mixing until the texture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually pour in the milk and vanilla extract, stirring until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently until smooth and elastic.
  6. Roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then add vanilla and mix well.
  8. Incorporate the heavy whipping cream, beating until thick and fluffy.
  9. Spread the cheesecake filling evenly across the rolled-out dough.
  10. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 1-inch rolls.
  11. Combine the strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and optional cornstarch in a saucepan and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  12. Pour the warm strawberry topping over the sliced rolls.
  13. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  14. Allow to cool slightly before serving topped with whipped cream.
