A delightful dish featuring savory teriyaki beef layered with creamy avocado over fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups rice
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pound boneless sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 avocado, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice by combining it with chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic powder in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
  2. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and let it sit.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and add the thinly sliced sirloin steak. Sear for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Whisk together teriyaki sauce, honey, and grated ginger in a small bowl, then pour over the beef and stir to coat.
  5. Simmer the beef in the teriyaki glaze for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Layer the dish by placing rice on the bottom, followed by teriyaki beef, and topped with avocado slices.
  7. Garnish with extra teriyaki sauce or sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Consider marinating the beef in teriyaki sauce for more flavor. Adding sliced green onions can provide a lovely crunch.
