  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar of marinara sauce
  • 1 (15-ounce) can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups mostaccioli pasta, uncooked
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Begin by browning the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain the excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the skillet, and sauté until they soften.
  3. Transfer the beef and vegetable mixture into your slow cooker, scraping the skillet for every bit.
  4. Pour in the marinara sauce and diced tomatoes, then sprinkle in the oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper, stirring to combine.
  5. Cover your slow cooker and let it cook on low for 4 hours.
  6. Add the uncooked mostaccioli pasta to the slow cooker and stir gently into the sauce.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Cover again and cook on low for an additional hour.
