Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1/4 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk with the active dry yeast and granulated sugar in a bowl; let it sit for about 5 minutes to activate.
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring in a separate bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture, stirring gently until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough gently, then roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
  8. Sprinkle the brown sugar and ground cinnamon over the butter.
  9. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, forming a log shape, and slice it into pieces about 1 inch thick.
  10. Place the sliced rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Prepare the frosting by mixing the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  13. Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls once they cool slightly.

Notes

Ensure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast. For best results, use fresh ingredients and measure accurately.
