A delightful heart-shaped cookie cake perfect for celebrating love on Valentine’s Day.

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed tightly
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Valentine’s-themed sprinkles or M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
  • Red or pink food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Beat together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually pour the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and Valentine’s-themed sprinkles.
  7. Line a heart-shaped pan with parchment paper and spread the dough evenly in the pan.
  8. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden around the edges.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Beat together the frosting ingredients until smooth, then frost the cooled cookie cake.
  11. Slice and serve.
