A delightful, creamy treat that perfectly marries fresh strawberries with rich vanilla for a refreshing dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean (or 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for strawberries)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and salt in a medium saucepan and mix until smooth.
  2. Cut the vanilla bean lengthwise, scrape the seeds into the mixture, and heat over medium until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Remove from heat, cover, and let it steep for about 10 minutes.
  4. Cool completely, then refrigerate for at least four hours.
  5. Blend the fresh strawberries with the sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
  6. Pour the chilled base into your ice cream maker and churn according to instructions (about 20-30 minutes).
  7. Layer the churned ice cream and strawberry puree in a container, swirling together.
  8. Freeze for at least four hours before serving.

Notes

For best results, freeze your ice cream maker bowl completely before use. Ensure you allow adequate steeping time for the vanilla bean for deeper flavor.
